Bucket Brigade
Keep the "free" Lowell Folk Festival going for years to come. Under the leadership of Enterprise Bank, help collect donations. There is no need to make a sales pitch, because people will readily give. Bucket Brigade FAQs

SELLING THE GOODS
Merchandise and CD Sales
Assist our visitors in purchasing festival garb, souvenirs, CD's and cold beverages.
Merchandise Handling
If you enjoy moving around throughout the Festival and like using hand trucks and driving golf carts, consider this job of keeping the sales areas well supplied. Move merchandise throughout the weekend as directed by merchandise sales coordinator. Check on inventory levels at sites and communicate with merchandise sales coordinator and CD Sales coordinator.

THE STAGE IS YOUR WORLD
Stage Assistant
Would you like to work backstage? Here is your chance. In this position you will work with the Stage Manager to ensure stage security and solve problems as they arise. You may help the Stage Manager on a variety of tasks that include last minute equipment needs or assuring performer arrival and departure.
Performer Guide UNUSUAL HOURS!
A Performer Guide helps musicians, who are unfamiliar with Lowell, navigate their weekend. From confirming their schedule, to identifying where a certain stage or meal location is, to identifying the nearest open pharmacy, Performer Guides are a vital local interface for the artist.
Performer Transportation UNUSUAL HOURS!
Drive artists to and from various stages and/or transport the musicians to Lowell from the airport and back. This is a great way to meet musicians. Volunteers are needed before, during, and after the festival.
Music Logger
You record stage performances onto digital audio tape for posterity. You list the songs and the musicians in a set of music, and clarify the titles of the songs with the performers. You become an "archivist assistant" for the Library of Congress, where your recordings will be deposited.

VISITOR CONTACT: YOU WILL SEE THOUSANDS!

Site Supervisor Assistant/Rover

Troubleshoot and help solve problems while roving through the crowd at a music site. Your responsibilities will include answering questions and providing directions. You stay on the lookout for safety issues, lost children or adults, or other problems and try to solve them.
Craft Area Helper / Roving
Here you serve as a "go between" helping both visitors and craftsmen. You will learn about the crafts being presented. You will give the craftsmen meal breaks and help them set up and take down their displays.

Survey

Meet people while surveying them about the Lowell Folk Festival. This information will be useful in future festival planning.
Trolley Line Monitor
Come help us provide continuous trolley service during the LFF by helping manage the trolley lines. The main duties include monitoring lines at the trolley stops and creating a safe crossing at Merrimack St.
Family Area Assistant
Do you like helping with creative activities for children that are fun and real crowd pleasers?
Information Booth
Want to tell visitors what they can do at the festival and in Lowell? You will work with the Ambassadors of the Greater Merrimack Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Festival Train and Parades: Lowell and Boston UNUSUAL LOCATIONS!
Do you want to become part of a parade in Boston or Lowell? You will enjoy the music of a famous parade band while marching or dancing through the streets. In Boston you will carry brochures and signs to advertise the LFF and assist in loading and unloading the train.
Art in the Courtyard
Help the artists of the region with the set-up and take-down of their art displays. Provide breaks for the artists and help with sales.

Recycling
Recycling at the Festival has been recognized as a national model of sustainability, since over 90% of the festival trash is turned into garden quality mulch in just one year! Recyclers can do any number of jobs such as giving the mulch away, sorting trash, and picking up trash barrels. You can do different jobs, if you want, that are suited for your level of fitness.

Set up and take down SPECIAL DATES

This takes place before and after the daily musical schedule. Teams will be carrying and arranging tables and chairs, putting up or taking down directional signs, moving tents on and off the streets, and any other need that might come along. You need to be in reasonable physical shape.
Water / Ice Delivery
You will deliver water and ice to stage performers and crews as well as ethnic food vendors.
